The creation of an Olympic Truce mural in the Olympic Village during the Games is a peace initiative that continues the ancient Greek tradition of the Olympic Truce, aiming to convey the peaceful and beautiful concept of the truce. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics truce mural is called "Light of Peace," and its creative inspiration comes from the Chinese traditional lantern, which symbolizes family reunion. The "lantern" is divided into six petals, each of which is individually shaped after the "Jade Dragon" image from the Hongshan culture, and the interior of the "lantern" also incorporates the structural characteristics of a "pomegranate." The work interprets the ideals of pursuing peace, promoting understanding, overcoming differences, and moving forward together. During the Games, it will provide a signing service for athletes.
