The "Ban Hong Incident" was a major historical event in the late 19th century during the period of China's democratic revolution, representing the anti-British struggle of the Ban Hong and Ban Lao Wa people. In 1890, Britain invaded Cangyuan in southwest China, and the Wa people and volunteer army united to resist the British and defend their territory. The work uses realistic and symbolic techniques to depict the heroic scene of the Wa people and volunteer army fighting together to defend their homeland, including dynamic actions such as shooting bows and arrows and wielding large knives and spears, highlighting their heroic deeds in maintaining national unity and territorial integrity.
