Planning Scope

The Sanguang area belongs to Xingjie Town, Xichou County, 10 kilometers from the town government, 38 kilometers from the county seat, 60 kilometers from the prefecture-level city, and 80 kilometers from the national-level Tianbao port. The total land area is 44 square kilometers, with 30 square kilometers of karst desertification. It comprises 9 villages and is one of the most severely affected areas by karst desertification in Xichou County. The land is scattered, with limited effective cultivated land, low forest and grass vegetation coverage, and severe water shortages. It is a typical low-yield area affected by karst desertification.

After years of management, Sanguang Village has become a nationally renowned demonstration area for karst desertification management, poverty alleviation, ethnic unity and progress, and the practice of the Xichou spirit.
