After Renovation: Wandian Border Gate Cultural Park
This design will combine the theme of road construction during the Anti-Japanese War, using the history of the construction of the Stilwell Road as the design concept. Based on respecting the original site, landscape improvements will be made. The entire green space will be cleverly handled in terms of elevation difference to create an open platform. A large area of greenery will be retained in the space to provide shade for the rest platform. The shape of the highway will be extracted and interpreted into the site, designed as tree pool seats, providing a comfortable gathering and distribution space for travelers and residents. Surrounding buildings, as part of the Border Gate Cultural Park, will be renovated and upgraded on the original basis, using Dai architectural roof and window frame elements to unify the overall style of the Border Gate Cultural Park. With urban furniture with ethnic characteristics, the entire space will be comfortable and rich in ethnic characteristics, becoming an important gathering and distribution highlight entering the Border Gate Cultural Park.
