Planning scope

 

Based on Wuping's street and alley culture, and adhering to the principles of being close to the people and close to life, highlighting local cultural characteristics, combining history and the functions of buildings, and aiming to "inherit the historical and cultural context and retain the memories of homesickness," this project aims to retain residents' memories of homesickness and recreate the historical atmosphere of the streets and alleys, creating "Wuping Memories." This will preserve historical memories, enhance the city's quality, and add color to the city's street and alley landscape.

Moonlight

The work combines the local Hakka architectural features, using artistic techniques to refine the roof shape. A full moon hangs on a screen-like landscape wall, the overall effect is very poetic and culturally rich. It conveys the love of the people of Wuping for their hometown and feelings. Tourists can immerse themselves in it and feel the unique local customs of Wuping, while promoting the rich folk customs and local culture of the Wuping region.

Studying Hard

The work is designed based on the childhood image of Li Mengyi, a famous poet from Wuping County during the Qing Dynasty. It depicts a scene of studying hard under a lamp at night. The dilapidated walls and simple Qing Dynasty furniture reflect his impoverished family background. His mother's care and support, and Li Mengyi's intelligence and diligence, made him a famous poet of the Qing Dynasty, reflecting the perseverance of ancient people in their diligent studies.

Pig Gallbladder Dry

Based on this story, the work uses exhibition art techniques, employing wall art painting and round carving to reproduce the scene of the origin of the Pig Gallbladder Dry story. Space is left for tourists to immerse themselves in the experience and understand Hakka food and drink culture, allowing traditional food to retain the old flavors of their hometown.

Architectural Street Scene

Using 3D stereoscopic hand-painted forms combined with half-scene sculptures and real object placement, the work combines Hakka residential buildings in Wuping with figures to depict the simple and peaceful street life of the people of Wuping in the past. It integrates seamlessly with the real streets and alleys, as if one could walk through the walls and encounter "Old Wuping," experiencing the historical atmosphere of Wuping. The streets and alleys become a showroom for Wuping's brilliant culture, bringing culture to life and spreading Wuping's street and alley culture.

Wuping County is located in the southwest of Longyan City, Fujian Province, at the junction of Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangxi provinces, the southernmost end of the Wuyi Mountains, and the westernmost end of Longyan City. It borders Shanghang County, Fujian Province to the east, Jiangxi Province to the west, Guangdong Province to the south, and Changting County, Fujian Province to the north. It is an important transportation hub connecting western Fujian, eastern Guangdong, and southern Jiangxi. Wuping County is a low mountain and hilly area, with the terrain sloping from northwest to southeast. There are many high mountains in the northwest and wide plains in the southeast. Pingchuan Town is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Pingchuan River valley basin in the south-central part of Wuping County. It borders Chengxiang Township to the southeast, Dongliu Township to the west, and Wan'an Township to the north. It is the county seat and the political, cultural, and economic center of the county. The town government is located in the northern section of Huancheng Road. There are 5 communities and 5 administrative villages in the town. Provincial Highway 306 passes through the town.
