Wuping County is a low mountain and hilly area, with the terrain sloping from northwest to southeast. There are many high mountains in the northwest and wide plains in the southeast. Pingchuan Town is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Pingchuan River valley basin in the south-central part of Wuping County. It borders Chengxiang Township to the southeast, Dongliu Township to the west, and Wan'an Township to the north. It is the county seat and the political, cultural, and economic center of the county.
